About the role
We are looking for a UX Generalist to join our team. You will collaborate with product managers to understand complex regulatory policy and organizational requirements. You will facilitate user research and conduct desk research to capture internal and end-user needs. You will also work with a cross-functional team and external teams to ensure that desired outcomes are met. Additionally, you'll contribute to the government design system and present design decisions to various stakeholders.
An ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills, a blend of analytical and creative thinking, and the ability to balance user needs with business goals.
Desired Skill Set
- 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.)
- Experience working with an existing government or mature corporate design system
- Experience conducting user research and translating insights into design solutions
- A clear understanding of information architecture and organization principles
- Ability to create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that align with government accessibility and platform standards
- Experience designing for accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, Section 508)
- Prior experience working with government stakeholders and digital services
- Proven ability to communicate design rationale clearly and advocate for user needs in cross-functional settings.
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
- Superb written and verbal communication
